Social Anxiety Disorder
The American Journal of Psychiatry has a book review of Social Anxiety Disorder edited by Borwin Bandelow and Dan J. Stein (New York, Marcel Dekker, 2004, 366 pp. $169.95). The book is broken down into three main sections dealing with "the diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of social anxiety disorder." In discussing the origins and causes of the disorder in section 2 (pathogenesis) observational learning is hypothesized as one of the possible roots for this behavioural problem.
