Pretty much all the stuff is techy soteria, but you've got to feel happy for the people.
The role of motivation, empathy and affect in observational and vicarious learning is central. Often this motivation or affective hook is played on by advertisers, but it can also be exploited by educators.
Mentors, role models and benchmarks are all more effective if the person observing can find a bridge of empathy to the person or behaviour being observed
